Your week in Tobago

The places you'll visit

A handful of the island's most beautiful corners, all arranged for you. Here's what they are, so you can picture the week ahead.

01Where you'll go
Your home for the week

Blue Haven Hotel

A characterful 1940s hotel on its own headland above Bacolet Bay, fifty-one ocean-view rooms, a saltwater pool and a terrace right over the sea. This is the bay where the original Robinson Crusoe was filmed, and where every day begins and ends.

New, on-site at Blue Haven

Sweet Spot Pickleball

Blue Haven's own freshly laid courts, lined for both pickleball and tennis, set just above the bay. Join a group class with the resident coach or simply pick up a paddle for a casual game, it's there whenever you fancy it through the week, and always included.

Sea · the catamaran day

A day under sail to the Nylon Pool

A full day on a private catamaran, just your group, sailing to a secluded bay you can only reach by boat and on to the Nylon Pool, a waist-deep, crystal-clear lagoon in the middle of the open sea. Snorkelling, swimming and kayaking, with a Creole lunch and drinks served aboard.

Nature · a guided walk

Main Ridge Forest Reserve

The oldest legally protected rainforest in the western hemisphere, set aside in 1776. A gentle guided walk through misty green hills with a naturalist, hummingbirds hand-fed at the feeders, jacamars and hidden waterfalls, the wild, green heart of the island.

Birdlife · hummingbirds · easy walking
Flavour · a taste of the island

Cocoa estate and the Store Bay food huts

A morning at the Tobago Cocoa Estate, a tour through the trees and a tasting of chocolate and rum, then lunch at the Store Bay food huts: curry crab and dumpling, callaloo, the island's home cooking at its best.

Culture · the island's heartbeat

Steel-pan at sunset, dancers after dark

A steel-pan class as the sun goes down, your own hands on the drums, then an evening of dancers and live music hosted at the hotel. The sound of Tobago, lived rather than watched.

Nature · waterfall and a slow day

Argyle Waterfall, a hike and a swim

Tobago's tallest waterfall, three tiers cascading through the forest into cool natural pools. A gentle guided walk leads you up, with time for a swim beneath the falls, then a free afternoon to slow down. On a dark-moon night you can add an optional bioluminescence kayak after dark.

Rest · the classic Caribbean beach

Pigeon Point & the beaches

Tobago's postcard beach: powder-soft white sand, a palm-thatched jetty and the calmest turquoise shallows on the island, the gentlest swimming and the view you've pictured. Or simply stay close, by the pool and the spa.

Beach · calm water · relaxing
The wild north

The wild north coast

The leeward-coast drive to the quiet, untouched end of the island, the forest-backed curve of Englishman's Bay and the fishing village of Castara, with lunch at a local restaurant and the seine fishermen hauling in their nets if the timing is right. Real island life, far from anything that feels like a resort.
